VIRGIL ABLOH: FIGURES OF SPEECH, BY MICHAEL DARLING
Meet Virgil Abloh through the pages of this book, which accompanies the retrospective exhibit of the same name at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (from June 10 to September 22). Hailing from Chitown, Abloh’s design roles include Artistic Director of Menswear, Louis Vuitton (a role he has held since 2018) and Creative Director of Off-White, the luxury men’s and women’s streetwear label that he launched in 2013. Beyond fashion, Abloh has been a creative director for Kanye West (famously designing the Yeezus album artwork), DJs under the moniker Flat White, and has collaborated with big brands like Nike—among so much more.
