Georgia O’Keeffe started exhibiting her work in 1916
and continued making new pieces of art until 1984. She gained a reputation as one of the 20th century’s most in uential modernists, not to mention one of its most successful. This exhibition at the AGO displays over 100 pieces of her art, and examines the length of her career. The touring exhibition makes its only North American stop at the AGO this spring, so it’s not to be missed. Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, April 22 – July 30
The PinK floyd exhibiTion: Their MorTal reMains
It’s hard to believe it’s been 50 years since Pink Floyd released their rst album The Piper at the Gates of
Dawn. Now the Victoria and Albert Museum is bringing the rst international retrospective of the band’s career in their latest exhibition. It’s a chronicle of the music, design and staging of the band, which includes album cover artwork, stage props, advertisements and of course their music. Over 350 artifacts that span the band’s career will be on display. Victoria and Albert Museum, London, May 13 – October 1

Henri Matisse was a rm believer that a group of objects he kept in his studio

helped him create art, and thanks to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts we now
get an inside look at these objects and how they inspired him. They’ve gathered together paintings, drawings, bronzes, cut-outs and prints to display alongside 35 works from his studio collection that helped inspire him. From decorative pots, pitchers, vases and textiles, to sculptures and masks, you will get an inside look at

sMall Wonders: GoThic boxWood MiniaTures The Met brings together almost 50 miniature boxwood carvings for this exhibition, which is the rst ever of its kind. Each are intricately carved objects that tell the stories of the Bible, and some of them are no more than ve centimetres in diameter. They’ve been around since the 16th century, when they were
found in the Netherlands. The exhibition even includes a boxwood rosary carved for King Henry VIII of England and his rst wife Catherine of Aragon. The Met, New York, February 22 – May 21
sTricTly ballrooM The Musical
Australian director Baz Luhrmann’s Red Curtain trilogy of lms includes Romeo
+ Juliet and Moulin Rouge, but it was Strictly Ballroom that started it all. Originally written as a play by Luhrmann in 1984, he adapted it for the screen in 1992. It tells the story of a dancer who risks his career by performing an unusual routine, while taking on a new, beginner partner. Princess of Wales Theatre, Toronto, April 26 – June 25
