Fall Fashion Report
ZVELLE
As the founder of emerging Toronto footwear label Zvelle, Iranian-born, Dubai-raised and Toronto-based designer Elle Ayoubzadeh brings international elements into her shoes. However, along with a global feel, the de- signer also favours wearable footwear. For Fall 2018, Zvelle’s collection is intended to take busy women from daytime to evening.
“We like to design classic styles with our own unique twist that you can have as part of your wardrobe for years to come. For fall, we are expanding our offerings to include block heel boots, flats and kitten heel pumps,” Ayoubzadeh tells us.
The designer’s personal footwear choices are boots and flats, and these are also on trend at Zvelle for autumn. Ayoubzadeh also likes bold, striking colours, when it comes to shoes for the season ahead.
“White and red as a colour combination is very on point right now, and we are doing it in our own way,” she tells us.
When it comes to materials, Ayoubzadeh prefers smooth, classic leathers for the ap- proaching days of crunchy leaves and nippy evenings. “We have buttery nappa leather and naplak leather — it’s a soft leather, with a cool wrinkle and glossy finish,” the design- er says.
While chunky heels, smooth textures and hints of red may be on her mind, Ayoubza- deh is not a fan of trends, and prefers time- less sophistication.
“My number one rule is don’t try to force trends on yourself,” she says. “Experimenting with colour and shoes is a great way to do that. It’s not a big commitment and it can be worn in so many ways. Our Mei boots can be worn all year round, paired with a dress, jeans or LBD for a chic evening look.”
