While there are still sunny days and warm after- noons ahead to embrace, there’s no denying that Fall 2018 is in the air, marking a return to layers. With brisk winds and crisp evenings around the cor- ner, it’s officially time to pick up a new frock, step out in new shoes and start thinking of outerwear. for the cooler weather, Canadian designers Hilary MacMillan, Elle Ayoubzadeh of Zvelle and Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan of Mackage share how to master fall style this season.
HILARY MACMILLAN
Known for her use of vegan and cruelty-free materi- als and textured looks, Hilary MacMillan founded her eponymous Toronto-based label in 2013. For Fall 2018, MacMillan favours voluminous, structured frocks and a timeless, ladylike aesthetic, featuring eyelet, sequins and faux leather details.
“Texture is all about working unique fabrics into your clothing choices. Great ways to do this are with materials like our silver sequins and vegan pat- ent leather. Volume, on the other hand, is all about playing with both fabric choice and garment shape,” MacMillan explains.
