Lucifer originally aired on Fox for three sea- sons, and even though critics had begun liking the series more than they initially had as the show matured, the ratings never really climbed and last Spring it was cancelled. Netflix stepped in though to make 10 more episodes for a fourth season, and last month they aired them. Lavi joined the series for the new season, playing not
lucky to have had the ability to find Eve. I do a lot of research, and a lot of reading. I also have my go-to mentor who preps me for every single role I portray. His name is Carlos Calonga, he was my teacher at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, and I would be utterly lost with- out him.”
Lavi has also had some success with film as well, such as last year’s Sorry For Your Loss (now airing on Showtime), but she doesn’t approach the small or big screen any differently. “A char- acter is a character,” she says. “I ap- proach them equally, but they are all different and layered in various ways. Each brings a different skill set to fo- cus on and a buffet of challenges to work out. I enjoy every bit of it.”

I’d go crazy without her. I also am very grateful for Pilates. It keeps me grounded, and in touch with my body and breath. But my main passion is Israel. My family. That’s my soul right there.”

Each actor has a different method of jump- ing from role to role, and Lavi is no different. “I use a lot of musicality in my prep. Whether it’s a playlist I listen to, or playing around with my voice to find the right tone and melody for a character. Same with physicality. I also put a lot of thought into costumes, as well as the hair and makeup. I’m pretty particular and was very
