mentality of barely there has quickly become a global trend. to Frankel, natural makeup is not just about using less products but also about maintaining a stress- free lifestyle. the nudestix girl is “a modern day woman. She’s a mom, she’s a student, she’s a professional and she wants prod- ucts that fit into her fast-paced lifestyle,” reveals Frankel. this easy to create, fresh-faced look is celebrated not only through their vegan-friendly products, but also through the company’s social undertaking. Serving as the face of the brand, the Frankel sisters have taken a step back from the notion of perfection by redefin- ing authentic beauty. “We’re not models or celebrities. We’re your everyday girls and that in itself is very relatable,” tells Frankel.
When explaining her go-to makeup routine, as the spirit of the millennial generation, Frankel expresses her great
love for the multi-tasking product. “think three uses
in just three minutes,”
she proclaims. Victim to
the snooze button herself, Frankel refers to the nud-
ies All over Face Colour
as the ultimate lazy girl
hack. As the product she
can’t live without, the multifunctional stick can
be applied seamlessly as a
matte nude or glow across
the eyes, cheeks and lips
for a neutral finish. Be-
sides adding subtle colour
to the face, Frankel takes
us back to the basics with
concealer, or what she cheerfully calls her “shot of espresso in the morning.” her holy grail prod- uct is built around the idea that a dab here or a smudge there does the trick, and Frankel encourages makeup wearers to opt for con- cealer as a spot treatment where needed rather than using full cov- erage foundation.
As a toronto native who craves the warmth of a tropical climate, Frankel recommends creating luminous, dewy skin for the spring and summer months. to achieve this trend of glowing skin from within, she accentuates the high points of her face with a pop of highlight, but avoids using products that have a shimmer or sparkle base. “i’m also all about bronzing... that is, in the right ar- eas. the goal is to bronze the skin in a way where it looks like the sun just touched your face,” she
says.
“Your jaw line, temples, cheeks
and creases of the eyes are small, localized areas to hit,” states Frankel. Keeping in theme with the brand’s primarily multi-pur- pose pencils, Frankel is also a fan of the monochromatic technique. Whether for this season’s special occasions or simply for every day, Frankel lists coral, peach- like tones as her favourite when paired with a sun-kissed look. to top off the bronzed glow, she rec- ommends a glossy lip in the same peachy nude as the cheeks and eyes.
gaining inspiration from the celebrity makeup artist who is responsible for keeping models Chrissy teigen and Kendall Jen- ner radiant, Frankel is currently obsessing over mary Phillips’ work. in fact, nudestix has also acquired Phillips as one of their
latest collaborators. “i love makeup artists who may opt for a bold lip or bold eye, but still leave the skin feeling and look- ing like skin,” voices Frankel.
So, what’s next for this blossoming beauty em- pire? Praising all things natural, Frankel hints at a new complexion prod- uct set to be released this month, called the nudies tinted Blur Stick. in the meantime, she encourages beauty lovers to put their best face forward—pref- erably, a glowing, healthy and au naturel one!
