it may be 2018, but this season, we are heading back to 1978 with glitzy embellishment and
a disco fever aesthetic. on the runways, sparkle ruled supreme and the ’70s were back in full force. as we jump into spring, head-to-toe sequins and neon shades are sure to light up wardrobes and dance oors everywhere.
designers experimented with all kinds of quirky takes on this fad, with balmain introducing a deep violet sequinned pantsuit. although balmain may have meant business, dolce & gabbana channelled party vibes with a skintight catsuit adorned with red sequin roses. elsewhere, marc Jacobs played with the owing caftan, updating the oor- length tunic with iridescent blue sequins, a tie belt and a chic turban.
With march here, this trend is the perfect way to bring out your inner dancing queen at any spring parties on your calendar. even if you missed the ‘70s the rst time around, sequins prove that the decade of disco is back, baby!
