Barraca

If you’re a fan of rum and tapas, this cocktail bar may be an ideal spot for after-work drinks with friends. When you walk through the narrow tavern you’ll be greeted by the quaint patio with plenty of seating for those hot summer nights. The shareable plates and fully-stocked bar mean that guests can also enjoy a bite, along with a chilled drink to help them relax after a long day at work.

Le Richmond

For an upscale patio, head to Le Richmond Griffintown. The loft-style space houses northern Italian cuisine and exclusive products from small-scale Italian growers. Some consider Le Richmond to have the most picturesque patio in Montreal. With room to seat 90, the patio features a large bar, comfy couches and lots of natural light.

Grinder

Located in the southwest of Montreal, Grinder is a favourite among locals. While the restaurant is considered a steakhouse, the raw items like tartars and ceviches bring a more upscale twist to a traditional steak menu. Its spacious patio shares design aspects of the restaurant itself with modern and vintage features. Plants surround the patio making for an inviting and relaxing space to enjoy a drink or two.

Tokyo Bar

Celebrating almost two decades of being a part of Montreal’s beloved nightlife, Tokyo Bar is a hot spot for clubgoers. It features two terraces, with one that is intended for relaxing and enjoying a cocktail, and the other meant strictly for dancing and partying. It’s often described as non-pretentious and is a popular destination for younger crowds.

Terrase Nelligan

The only thing that could make a patio any better is a rooftop view of the city. Sitting at roof-level with Notre Dame Basilica, Terrase Nelligan gives visitors a view of the historic architecture and the river port that runs along St. Lawrence River. The patio is heated and the retractable awnings make a day on the patio possible, whether it rains or shines.
