Groundbreaking Journalist Ginella Massa Makes History With CBC
Groundbreaking television journalist and anchor Ginella Massa is making history as the first hijab-wearing host of a national television news program in Canada. The award-winning journalist’s new CBC show Canada Tonight with Ginella Massa begins on January 11.
In a statement released when the announcement was made, Massa shared her excitement. “It’s a dream come true to be joining Canada’s national public broadcaster,” said Massa. “I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective to CBC, and connect with Canadians across the country every night. I look forward to working with an amazing team, as we dissect and discuss the issues that matter most to our country.”
Massa’s previous work includes time at NewsTalk 1010 and as an on-air anchor at CityNews Toronto.
