Although you may be a city kid at heart, you can always soak up the serenity and calm of the countryside at the upcoming Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 2018. The annual winter fair returns to Exhibition Place in Toronto on November 2, and runs until November 11. Just like every year before, this year’s farm festivities are set to include the Royal Horse Show. The equestrian event is set to feature 1,000 competitors and elements of dressage, show jumping and indoor eventing.
As well, renowned chefs are slated to bring farm to table cooking to the Royal Winter Fair, with local chefs like Michael Hunter, Rob Gentile and Carl Heinrich. Budding foodies can also sign up for cooking classes on site from the Burnbrae Farms Culinary Academy, or check out Champions Day on November 7 for a taste of Canadian-made cheeses and jams. For anyone hunting for a brew, the fair also offers the Craft Beer & Cider Awards, which will feature 40 samplings from Ontario breweries.
Whether you want to take a peek at some adorable farm animals, dig into Ontario eats or simply kick back with a drink, the Royal Winter Fair aims to highlight Canadian agriculture, food, drinking and dining.
