The Beach

The beach is a great to way to spend some time in the sun, and summer in the city certainly wouldn’t be the same without a visit to Woodbine Beach in Toronto’s east end. Grab a blanket and cuddle up next to your partner. If you’re a kid at heart, you can also make a sandcastle, play volleyball or fly a kite. If you’re in the downtown area, Sugar Beach is located on Toronto’s waterfront. The pretty flamingo coloured umbrellas and chairs are perfect for snuggling with your loved one, while having the view of the water.

Rooftop Lounges

If you’re a city person who loves being in the water and wants a more sophisticated location, a rooftop lounge may be perfect for you. You can head to Thompson Toronto’s Rooftop Lounge or Lavelle.  Both are located in the King West area of downtown Toronto, and include a view of the skyline, a pool and of course, plenty of drinks. Lavelle is 16 square feet, has three pools and is also a restaurant, for those who are craving a bite. 

Drive-In Movie

Although to some drive-in theatres are something mostly seen in movies, there are also a few in the Toronto area. Everyone has gone to the cinema before, but a drive-in theatre is more of a sentimental experience. There’s the 5 Drive-In Theatre located in Oakville, where you can catch a late movie and curl up in the car, with a bucket of popcorn and plenty of sweet treats. With a 1950s inspired atmosphere, the drive-in also immediately evokes vintage vibes and brings an era of the past to mind. As an alternative to Netflix or your neighbourhood multiplex, why not embrace the silver screen in the wide open drive-in lot instead? 

Arcade

Arcades aren’t just for young children, as a night of games and junk food can easily introduce some playful competition into your relationship. In Toronto, you can go to Tilt, which is located in the Annex and includes old games like pinball, Pac-Man, and a Nintendo 64 lounge with Super Mario Bros and Donky Kong Reunion. Tilt is open late and boasts a snack bars that provides foods like hot dogs, fries, and ice cream sandwiches.

Another well known arcade is Dave & Busters, located just outside of Toronto in Vaughan. You can play billiards or show off your dancing skills while playing Dance Dance Revolution. With a menu of appetizers, main courses, desserts and drinks, you also won’t have to leave hungry!
