Whether you’re visiting Toronto this month or you proudly call the 6ix home sweet home, it’s clear that the weather is warm and festival season is in full effect under the city skyline! With exciting attractions, live performances, and a festival for nearly everything, you’ll never run out of things to do in Toronto. If your perfect weekend involves heading over to one of the city’s top festivals, here are a few of the exciting events awaiting you in July.

TD Salsa in Toronto Festival: TD Salsa in Toronto festival is one of the largest Latino themed street celebrations in Canada taking place over a three week period. The hot and spicy festival concludes on St. Clair on July 9th and 10th with a two day street fest. Integrating music, dance, food and loads of fun, the Salsa in Toronto brings together hundreds of salsa lovers from all over Canada.

Beaches International Jazz Festival: Taking place at Woodbine Park on July 19-20, the Taste of Jazz festival will be featuring live music, gourmet food trucks as well as a licensed beer/wine area for guests to enjoy. The entertainment will be provided by Stacey Renee and DJ Q-BON!X. The festival will run from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and all performances are free.

Toronto Caribbean Carnival: Each summer, the streets of Toronto come together to celebrate the sounds, sights and spirit of the Caribbean. Some of the major events include the official launch of the festival, located at Nathan Phillips Square at 11:00 a.m. on July 5^th. The Junior Carnival and Family Day event will be taking place on July 16^th at Malvern and Neilson Park from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. including a presentation of young performers. Take part in the Carnival Annual Ball at the Liberty Grand on July 22^nd, to enjoy elegant cocktails, dinner and a dancing. Finally, the Grand Parade will take place on July 30^th along a 3.5 kilometer stretch at the Exhibition Place filled with masqueraders performing live.

Toronto Summer Music Festival: The Toronto Summer Musical Festival is one of the city’s most eagerly-awaited classic music events. Opening on July 14^th until August 7^th, join multiple Torontonian’s in celebrating the great musical tradition of Great Britain. With great music performed by Canadian and International artists at Koerner Hall and Walter Hall, there are many events for individuals to take part in.

Rogers Cup: Presented by National Bank, the prestigious tennis tournament organized by Tennis Canada is taking place this year from July 23 to 31. Toronto will be hosting the men’s tournaments while Montreal will be hosting the women’s tournaments during the same week. Held at Toronto’s Aviva Stadium at York University, this year’s lineup features an impressive list including Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and a hometown favourite, Milos Raonic. This year, Cirque du Soleil will be performing on-site daily throughout the tournament as a form of entertainment for individuals to enjoy.
