As the creative force behind Toronto eveningwear label Narces, Nikki Wirthensohn Yassemi is known for her love of illustrious dresses. Recently, Real Style spoke with Wirthensohn Yassemi at the FashionCAN Pop-Up Shop at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre. From her favourite fabrics to collaborating with her inspiring mother, the local talent spilled on the story behind her fairytale designs.

With yesterday marking the second day of the FashionCAN Fall 2017 shows at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, the catwalks were once again home to the finest in Canadian fashion.

Yesterday, FashionCAN hosted their second runway showcase at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, in partnership with the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards. The Canadian runway shows highlighted some of our nation’s most talented designers, from established names to emerging stars. Real Style was in the front rows at Day 1 of FashionCAN, and had the chance to see the latest and greatest of the Fall 2017 and ready-to-buy Spring 2017 collections.

In 2010, Canadian designer Christopher Paunil founded his eponymous label, which has since become synonymous with ethereal bridal gowns and graceful eveningwear. We spoke to Paunil and his business partner Chalo Hancock backstage at the recent FashionCAN show at Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
