Although Toronto may settling in for a February chill, the city’s fashionable set has officially stepped out for the Fall 2018 season of Toronto Fashion Week. From daring denim to extravagant evening gowns, here is our runway report from Day 1 of this season’s shows.

For any Canadian fashionistas who are eager to slip into their most luxurious finery, Toronto Fashion Week just might offer an opportunity to dress up. The second season of the three day extravaganza of runway shows, panels and presentations returns to the city’s Yorkville area from February 5-7.

With the revamped Toronto Fashion Week officially taking place in Yorkville this week, the local runways have brought us the latest and greatest creations from Canadian designers. From Lucian Matis to UNTTLD, Real Style reports on the front rows from the first two evenings of the three day festival.

Yesterday, FashionCAN hosted their second runway showcase at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, in partnership with the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards. The Canadian runway shows highlighted some of our nation’s most talented designers, from established names to emerging stars. Real Style was in the front rows at Day 1 of FashionCAN, and had the chance to see the latest and greatest of the Fall 2017 and ready-to-buy Spring 2017 collections.

This week, the second day of runway shows at Yorkdale Shopping Centre’s FashionCAN showcase revealed another round of stellar Canadian collections. The event, which was presented in partnership with the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards, continued to impress with its runway presentations.

Recently at Toronto Fashion Week in March, emerging Montreal-based label UNTTLD unveiled a collection of striking metallic gowns and intricate embellished frocks. Real Style caught up with designers Simon Bélanger & José Manuel St-Jacques about their shimmering new collection, their lives as emerging Canadian design talents and their favourite fashion memories.

With Day 2 of Toronto Fashion Week making a splash last night at David Pecaut Square, the catwalks continue to showcase Fall 2016 trends in Canadian fashion. Here’s Real Style’s runway roundup on the latest and greatest from the front rows in Toronto.
