On September 25, Real Style had the opportunity to attend the Cashmere 18 Crystal Ball Fashion Show at Arcadian Loft in Toronto. This year marked the 15th anniversary of the show, which supports breast cancer awareness and also features a runway with Canadian designers. For 2018, emerging design talents like Oscar Mendoza, Candace Daniela, Fesvedy and Mani Jassal brought their creations to the catwalk. The event featured intricate, eveningwear-like designs that were exclusively made from Cashmere bathroom tissue.  

Recently, Toronto designer Hayley Elsaesser presented one of her signature vibrant, technicolour runway shows at Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2019. Real Style caught up with the spirited, bubbly designer backstage following her show, where Elsaesser spilled on her creative inspiration. From adapting to a world of fast, temporary fashion to embracing diversity, this design star had much to share. Last night, the festivities at Toronto Fashion Week SS19 officially came to a grand finale, with Day 3 of TFW wrapping up the three-day extravaganza of shows and panels. Over the past two days, Real Style had the opportunity to catch both rising and renowned Canadian designers on the Yorkville runways and in the RESET studio showroom. As we look back on the Spring 2019 season of Toronto Fashion Week, here’s our front row report on the latest Canadian trends for the season ahead.  

Yesterday, the Spring/Summer 2019 season of Toronto Fashion Week officially kicked off in the city’s Yorkville area, and once again featured the return of Canadian designers to the local runways. Real Style was seated front and centre in the front rows of the shows, and had a chance to see the latest and greatest from homegrown design talents. With summer officially coming to a close in the 6ix, it’s almost time for Toronto Fashion Week to hit the city’s upscale Yorkville area. The semi-annual fashion event runs from Tuesday, September 4 to Thursday, September 6, and is once again expected to feature a lineup of RESET studio presentations and runway shows from Canadian designers.

Real Style was seated front row and centre for Day 1 and Day 2 of the shows.

Recently, the esteemed French designer Jean Paul Gaultier made a special visit to Toronto to speak at Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2018. The Yorkville-based event featured a panel sponsored by FIJI Water, where Gaultier engaged in conversation with American writer Derek Blasberg. Real Style was in attendance at the talk, and had an opportunity to hear Gaultier address the crowds.
