DSquared2 Joins Forces With Basketball Player Dwyane Wade For Saks Fifth Avenue

In breaking fashion news, Canadian-born and London-based designers DSquared2 have just announced a new partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue. Dean and Dan Caten will be collaborating with 34-year-old Chicago Bulls basketball player Dwyane Wade on an upcoming menswear line, which will be exclusively sold at the retailer.
While this new sartorial connection between the court and the catwalk may seem like an unusual mix, Wade is in fact a longtime fan and friend of the Caten brothers. The style-conscious professional athlete sported DSquared2 at his 2014 wedding to actress Gabrielle Union.
According to a press release, the nine-piece Spring 2017 collection is slated to include casual pieces like wool jogging pants and a leather and denim biker jacket. Meanwhile, more formal designs such as a tuxedo jacket crafted out of lurex jacquard and satin will be part of the line as well.

“Collaborating with two of the world’s most creative visionaries is a dream come true and we are creating a high fashion collection that embodies fit, style and bold elegance. Each design reflects my personal taste and lifestyle, but is also geared towards the everyday man with an elevated fashion sense,” said Wade in a statement.
The collection, which combines athleisure with high fashion, also includes a signature Dwyane Wade jacket. Paying tribute to his sport, this nylon bomber is said to be styled over denim, with Wade’s jersey number “3” and a “Wade” motif emblazoned on the design.
For basketball fans or trendsetting men who are coveting the season’s sporty aesthetic, this upcoming collection is said to be followed by another 2017 capsule collection. In the meantime, anyone who is admiring Wade’s dapper off-court style can stay tuned for the Spring 2017 line, to be carried at certain Saks locations and also available online.
