In breaking fashion news, Karl Lagerfeld has officially titled Willow Smith as the latest celebrity ambassador for Chanel.

According to Fashionista.com, the 82-year-old German designer has selected the 15-year-old actress and singer to represent the iconic French fashion house. As part of her new role, Smith will have the opportunity to attend Chanel events, incorporate the label’s pieces into her wardrobe and take a front row seat at runway shows.

On Chanel’s official Instagram account, the fashion house shared a snapshot today of the slender and stylish Smith posing next to Lagerfeld in the front row of his Paris Fashion Week show. Meanwhile, the newly minted young ambassador also posted an Instagram photo of herself and the legendary creative director (who also leads his eponymous label and the house of Fendi).

Smith expressed her gratitude with an Instagram caption, which read “Thank you Karl Lagerfeld and the entire team at Chanel for expanding the perceptions of “beauty” by picking me to be the new Chanel ambassador. I am honored.”

While the teenage daughter of actor Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith is already known for her edgy, androgynous style, it looks like this Chanel gig will mark new fashion territory for her.
