With Spring 2016 on the minds of fashionistas everywhere, Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing has officially unveiled the French fashion house’s latest campaign for the season ahead. Although the calendar may read 2016, Rousteing has turned to the powerful beauties of the 1990s to star in the newly released ads.
Staying true to the age of the supermodel, Balmain’s campaign stars Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer. The trio of catwalk stars were shot by fashion photographer Steven Klein in New York City. Fashionista.com reports that the shoot also involved digital artist Pascal Dangin (who helped with creative direction), along with hairstylist Shay Ashual and makeup artist Yadim.
This morning, Balmain shared the images from the new ads on its official Instagram account. In one shot, the fearsome threesome poses together in a series of sultry black designs which feature tiered frills, mesh detail and strategic cut-outs.
Meanwhile, 49-year-old Crawford, 45-year-old Campbell and 45-year-old Schiffer also look eternally youthful as they strike poses for the camera in individual shots. We are loving the edgy black and white aesthetic of the Balmain campaign, along with the fierce facial expressions and seductive silhouettes on display.
