The Sheer Trend Brings Summer Romance Back For 2018
As the temperatures rise and fashionistas prepare for the season ahead, sheer fabrics make a return to the city sidewalks. Although the past winter in the True North may have been one of endless snow and brutal winds, Summer 2018 is shaping up to be sizzling hot. Before you jump into a sheer outfit, consider adopting a new aesthetic and a new way to sport this trend. As opposed to the skimpy mini dresses of seasons past, the new sheer trend comes in many variations. Look to the runways as you upgrade your wardrobe, and prepare to rock out in sheer all summer long.
Fendi
At Fendi, the sheer midi dress made an appearance adorned with subtle, sweet stripes. With its transparent fabric and contrasting, soft stripes in shades of orange and red, this airy dress steals the catwalk. We are loving the short flutter sleeves on this frock, as well as the cut-out sides on the bodice.
Emporio Armani
Meanwhile, Emporio Armani rocked the look in the form of a candy pink sheer blouse with puffed, three quarter sleeves. Styled with a bandeau top and a pair of soft pink pleated trousers, this look was a more conservative take on the typically risqué look of sheer. We are liking the matching strappy sandals, black beret and crossbody bag, which add a dose of femininity.
Joseph
At Joseph, the sheer white dress was a major look. Perfect for a weekend afternoon, the sleeveless dress featured thick straps, a V-neckline and white eyelet lace. The sheer panels and the lacy black cami underneath offer a hint of sex appeal, and help to balance out the feminine silhouette on display.
