Retro Style Fur Coats Warm Up The Runways
As the Canadian winter threatens to set in full force in the coming few weeks, there’s nothing quite like a fur or faux fur coat to offer you a layer of warmth. Whether you’re heading to a holiday party or on your way to girls’ night out, the season’s runways can give you a few style pointers. We’ve turned our focus to the catwalks at Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Loewe for a glimpse of ways to wear this trend.
Marc Jacobs
For a glamorous way to rock the approaching wintry temperatures, try layering a luxurious brown fur coat over a turtleneck sweater dress. Add dangling metallic necklaces, a waist-cinching belt and black opaque tights. Meanwhile, a knitted winter hat in a mustard colour, black leather boots and an oversized leather satchel help to seal the deal.
Michael Kors
At Michael Kors, colour was certainly in the air. We are loving the look of this bright magenta and violet three-quarter length coat, along with the magenta turtleneck. For a finishing touch, the outfit is completed with black thigh-high suede boots and a wide black belt.
Loewe
True elegance took the stage at Loewe, in the form of a dramatic, long grey fur number. If you’re sporting statement outerwear for a night out, there’s no need to also add high-drama jewellery. Instead, turn to a simple, streamlined black jumpsuit, black ankle boots and a sleek brown satchel.
