While the fashion world has been buzzing for some time about the appointment of Raf Simons at Calvin Klein, it looks like the Belgian designer has officially taken on this new gig. According to Fashionista.com, Simons has been titled the newest chief creative officer of the American label.
On their official Instagram account, Calvin Klein shared a black and white snapshot of the 48-year-old design talent. In a caption, the fashion house described Simons’ new role with the company.
As chief creative officer, Simons is set to lead Calvin Klein’s new global creative strategy, which aims to unite all the various Calvin Klein brands under one umbrella. He is slated to showcase his debut collection in Fall 2017.
In addition to the appointment of Simons, Calvin Klein has also appointed Pieter Mulier as their new creative director. Mulier, who has been Simons’ right hand since 2002, will now be working directly under Simons in his new role.
Previously, Simons was known for his stunning and intricate creations as creative director at Dior. With his penchant for artistic accents, voluminous full skirts and ladylike florals, it will be intriguing to see his signature design aesthetic at Calvin Klein.
