Although Cindy Crawford may have left her mark on the runways of the 1990s, it looks like the iconic supermodel is now officially set to retire from modelling. With February 20 set to mark her 50th birthday, the brunette bombshell has announced that she is ready to bid adieu to the catwalks.
In an interview with United Airlines’ Hemisphere magazine, Crawford described her decision to step down from the catwalks after a lengthy and impressive career.
“I feel like I’m allowing that to have been great, and I’m celebrating it. And I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that’s OK. I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to,” she said to Hemispheres.
Recently, Crawford stunned in a sultry Spring 2016 campaign for Balmain, alongside fellow ‘90s supermodels Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer. The 49-year-old timeless beauty also published her book, Becoming Cindy Crawford, in September.
With Crawford officially announcing her decision, she follows in the steps of fellow model Gisele Bündchen. The 35-year-old Brazilian beauty also officially said goodbye to the world of modelling in April, after a successful 20-year career.
