While 2016 may have just started, Gucci has already revealed its new campaign for Spring/Summer. Staying true to the bohemian design aesthetic which has been popularized by creative director Alessandro Michele, the Italian fashion house has revealed a line of ethereal, funky pieces.
According to Fashionista.com, the campaign features models Polina Oganicheva, Peyton Knight, Elizabeth Moore and Jacob Hugo Goldhoorn and was shot by fashion photographer Glen Luchford.
As for the styles themselves, the new Spring/Summer 2016 collection features a chic floral printed backpack with embroidered birds, along with a brilliant light blue suit adorned with a screen print.
It’s clear that Gucci has been inspired by the vintage looks of the 1980s, along with the urban landscape and edgy setting of Berlin. In the new ads, models pose for the cameras in oversized retro eyeglasses, frilly blouses and brilliant red floral printed pantsuits. Meanwhile, the collection also incorporates a variety of textures and fabrics, ranging from muslin to suede.
Will the boho chic style of the ’80s return to the front lines of fashion for spring? While it may be too early to tell, we are certainly liking the cool looks on display at Gucci.
