Best Dressed At The 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards
Last night, the 21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards made a splash at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Staying true to the star-studded atmosphere of the evening, a number of gorgeous celebrities left their sartorial mark on the red carpet. From Rachel McAdams to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, here are the best dressed stars from the Critics’ Choice Awards.
Rachel McAdams: Known for her natural beauty, the 37-year-old Canadian actress and True Detective star was a vision in a rich burgundy beaded gown from Elie Saab’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection. The delicate chain straps, trailing hemline and waist-cinching silhouette all added to the stunning look of her dress.
Gina Rodriguez: While the 31-year-old star of Jane The Virgin may shine on the small screen as the naïve and sweet Jane Villanueva, Rodriguez channelled her inner Hollywood belle in a striking peachy pink gown from Safiyaa’s Spring 2016 collection. The girlish hue of the floor-length frock flattered her glowing tan complexion, while the cap sleeves, curve-hugging design and plunging neckline completed the look.
Alicia Vikander: The 27-year-old Swedish actress was awarded a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress for her part in The Danish Girl, and looked like a true superstar on the red carpet. Vikander was radiant in an embellished, form-fitting Mary Katrantzou gown which featured an elaborate bodice and a peplum cut. The striking dark blue number was adorned with contrasting red, white and gold detail and a softly falling hem.
Kate Beckinsale: On the red carpet, the 42-year-old brunette beauty (who plays Selene in the Underworld saga) looked gorgeous in an ethereal silver Monique Lhuillier gown. The embellished detail and sequins created an enchanting look, while the sheer bustline offered a glimpse of her décolletage. Beckinsale paired the dress with long diamond earrings and a metallic box clutch for a final touch of sophistication.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: The 28-year-old British model and Victoria’s Secret Angel looked both chic and classic in an elegant black Saint Laurent gown from the fashion house’s Spring 2016 line. The sultry asymmetrical neckline, daring low back and the thigh-high slit up one leg brought the focus to her statuesque proportions. For a finishing touch, Huntington-Whiteley accessorized her dress with a black metallic Yves Saint Laurent envelope clutch, dangling earrings and strappy, dainty silver sandals.
