On the Milan Fashion Week Spring 2018 runways, Gucci unveiled an absolutely stunning beauty look. While the Italian fashion house has already been gaining a reputation for its zany, artistic prints as of late, Gucci’s approach to bright beauty also matches its design aesthetic. For the season ahead, models strut the Milan catwalk with punchy bright lipstick. From cherry-toned stains to Barbie pink pouts, colour was certainly the word on everybody’s lips.

The fierce statements crafted by makeup artist Yadim also involved shimmering eye makeup in mermaid tones. Gold and blue glitter eyeshadow was applied messily around the eyelids, to create a smudged, sexy look. Clearly drawing inspiration from decades of the past, the 1970s and 1980s beauty theme at Gucci reigned supreme.

Although it’s too early to predict if kaleidoscope eyes and smeared lipstick will be a major trend for Spring 2018, these makeup looks certainly stole the spotlight. With larger than life tones and vibrant sparkle contrasted against au naturel skin, Gucci’s beauty look was certainly not for the meek.
