Although the late Texas-born songstress Selena Quintanilla-Pérez died in 1995 at age 23, beauty addicts are still admiring her signature beauty looks 21 years after her tragic murder.

While the excitement surrounding MAC Cosmetics’ upcoming Selena line has been bubbling for some time, the cosmetics brand has now officially released a snapshot from the collection.

On their Instagram account, MAC released a photo today of a new Selena x MAC lipstick. Taking inspiration from Selena’s lively Tejano music, the lip colour is named Como La Flor and makes a splash with its vibrant fuchsia tone.

In an Instagram caption, MAC also shared a statement from Suzette Quintanilla, the sister of the deceased star. “I wanted the colours to be about her personally, what she wore on and offstage,” stated Quintanilla.

The MAC x Selena collection is slated to be released this October. For makeup mavens who are inspired by Selena’s vampy lip colour choices and smouldering beauty, this particular lipstick colour just may be a perfect autumn hue.
