Corset Braids Make A Splash As An Edgy New Hairstyle

While intricate rope braids and fishtail plaits may have already stolen the spotlight, a new hairstyle has made a splash. Corset braids, which were spotted on the Lesley Hampton runway at Vancouver Fashion Week in September, have officially left their mark.
Corset braiding stays true to its name, with wide ribbons being woven across the plait in a type of corseting design. Unlike the famously waist-cinching undergarment which offers an hourglass silhouette, the corset braid features double Dutch braids. The twin plaits are then woven together with broad, colourful pieces of ribbon, for an eye-catching effect.
The look of sharply plaited tresses and schoolgirl inspired hair ribbons manages to look incredibly chic and polished. Whether you use neutral ribbons or stick to brighter, shimmering shades, the criss-cross effect of corset plaiting can certainly keep your locks under control.
If you’re tired of loose strands or frizzy strands, corset braiding can also help you manage your heavy, out of control mane. Here’s a closer at this stunning and quaint hairstyle trend, which instantly evokes images of fair Renaissance maiden and a bygone era.
