While you may have just mastered the classic winged liner, it looks like those perfectly sharp edges and flawless corners may be in need of an update this season.

For Spring 2016, the latest beauty trend promises to take eye makeup on an unexpectedly bumpy ride. Known as bubble eyeliner, Popsugar.com reports that this eye makeup trend has recently made a statement on social media.

The look is being popularized by makeup artist Jenny Gonzalez, who recently shared a short Instagram video of her application technique. Staying true to its name, bubble eyeliner features dots of black liquid eyeliner being applied in a row to the upper eyelids. Gonzalez then uses a thin makeup brush to smooth in the makeup, and create striking eyes adorned with fierce bubbled liner.

Paired with bold lips and long eyelashes, bubble eyeliner is certainly an eye-catching trend for the weekend or a night out. While we wouldn’t recommend sporting it to the office, it just may bring dimension and detail to your classic makeup routine.
