Here’s how to master this innocent yet unexpectedly sultry braided look for the warmer months of the year.

1) Start by creating a skinny braid on one side of your visage: To launch your hairstyle, start off with clean, tangle-free and side-parted locks. Next, take a small section of hair on one side of your face and begin plaiting this segment into a side braid.

2) Continue braiding toward the back of your head: Once you’ve officially starting making a side braid, bring your hairstyle to the next level. Continue plaiting your hairstyle toward the back of your head, and then braid this segment over to the other side of your head for a wrapped effect. Once you reach the end of the braid, wrap it around over your forehead to produce the look of a crown braid. Use bobby pins to hold your hairstyle in place.

3) Use your fingers to loosen the braided segments: For a natural-looking effect, loosen the sections of your braid in order to create a pancaked and texturized look. At this point, you can also adjust any pesky flyaway strands.

4) Create loose and soft waves with a curling wand: To craft an authentic boho chic effect, use a curling wand to style the loose strands which are not part of your half up braid. Wrap thin sections around the curling wand, hold in place for a few seconds and then release the strands to produce soft, free-falling curls.

5) Slowly brush out your curls to complete the look: Once you’ve perfected your gentle loose waves, carefully brush out your locks with a paddle brush for a finishing touch. This will help to create delicate, fuss-free waves which will accentuate your gorgeous new crown braid.
