While Grace Coddington may be best known for her long-running gig as the creative director of Vogue, the fiery-haired 74-year-old resigned from her iconic position in January. However, despite stepping down from her full-time role at the fashion publication, Coddington is now officially making her move into the beauty industry.
Staying true to her love of fragrance, the creative powerhouse is now set to release a new fragrance in partnership with Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons. Known as Grace by Grace Coddington, the perfume will be released on April 19.
According to Vogue.com, the fragrance will include notes of peach blossom, white musk and Moroccan rose which is spiked with amber crystal.
The American fashion magazine also shared a snapshot of the new fragrance bottle on its official Instagram account. Not surprisingly, Coddington has paid tribute to her love of cats, and has incorporated a whimsical sketch of a kitty into the design of the bottle.
As for the fragrance itself, Coddington is quoted in an Instagram caption as drawing her inspiration from her passion for sweet rose scents. “My mother had a rose garden, and it just never occurred to me to smell like any other smell except rose,” she said to Vogue.
Fragrance lovers may want to keep their eyes (and noses) open for Coddington’s latest project, which just might make a splash this spring.
