Blurring- This New Korean Beauty Technique Promises Clear Skin
While a number of Korean beauty tricks have been making a splash in the past couple of seasons, a new trend known as blurring is the latest technique to join the line-up.
Blurring refers to a process which softly blends light lip colour and foundation across the visage, in order to create an au natural effect. The popular trick draws its inspiration from smartphone filters, which are often used to create the perfect Instagram selfie.
The rise of blurring has also led to numerous creams and beauty products, which are developed especially to achieve this effect.
In a statement to Cosmopolitan, Soko Glam co-founder Charlotte Cho described the makeup benefits of blurring, which can result in a subtle cloudy look.
“You’re using formulas that disguise fine lines, uneven skin tone, patchy skin, and dark spots, but not so much coverage that you look heavily made up. It’s not going to completely cover up that pimple, but it will hide it a bit, making you look bright and natural-looking, but not flawless,” said Cho.
Although blurring is still an emerging trend in North America, we certainly like the idea of luminous and natural-looking skin. As the temperatures rise, it may be worthwhile to try blurring as part of your makeup regimen this season.
