As for shine, this time it makes its appearance in many varieties, whether it’s metallic sequins, paillettes or mosaics of small mirrors at Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana or Michael Kors, or slinky high-shine satin at Calvin Klein Collection, Céline, Ralph Lauren and Louis Vuitton. Then there’s the aforemen- tioned throwback to the ’70s via Lurex at Mis- soni, Dolce & Gabbana and Balenciaga.
Obviously, the takeaway for the season is to be bold and to add a little excitement to one’s
wardrobe. How you choose to do so can re ect your own personal style, as there are so many options. To have fun with it is key, as that
is the mood that prevails with this trend. If you don’t own a sequined piece, this is the perfect time to acquire one, as it is something that is sure to cycle back into fashion and is an easy way to inject a little “joie de vivre” into your wardrobe. Release your inner magpie and line your nest with something shiny!
