If you decide to go pastel, or switch up your colour in any way, Stollmeyer also recommends using the right treatments at home. “Heat is the biggest contributor to colour fading. Using a colour protecting shampoo/conditioner and a leave-in heat protector/colour pro- tecting treatment is a great way to maintain the look and feel of your hair, as the fall weather gets drier and we are in and out of hats and headbands,” she says.
If you have long locks and aren’t in the mood for a dramatic
cut, you can always get a hair refresh with a colour change instead.

worn in a ponytail. The arrival of autumn, however, calls for a style update, with a fresh new colour and cut to keep you looking chic. Real Style caught up with hairstyl- ist Amy Stollmeyer and CEO Safir Shnayderman from Toronto-based hair brand Design.ME to talk about the season’s hottest hair trends.
