Lucian MaTis
Best known for famously dressing sophie Grégoire-trudeau for
a White house state dinner
in 2016, canadian designer lucian Matis is quickly earning
a reputation beyond canadian borders. Born in Romania, Matis earned his degree at toronto’s Ryerson university school of Fashion. after a tk-year hiatus,
the designer returned to the toronto Fashion Week runway last month, unveiling a collection of owery frocks well- suited for the upcoming spring 2018 season. With a focus on feminine ts, subtly sexy sheaths and vivid, eye- catching silk embroidery, Matis’ creations were anything but ordinary. along with a passion for blooms, the designer also showed a love for lace, peplum waists and voluminous ared skirts in
his dainty frocks. With a rapidly growing celebrity following, including Grégoire-trudeau and canadian actress sarah Gadon, Matis is sure to become a major runway and red carpet player. We’ll be watching.
