Pink – beauTiFul Trauma
It’s been ve years since Pink released her last album, The Truth About Love, and a lot has changed in her life since then, including the birth of her second child. During that time, she’s also released a couple of covers (The Beatles song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit”), written a song for Céline Dion and performed on country singer Kenny Chesney’s single “Setting the World on Fire.” What wasn’t happening, though, was recording her own music. All of that is about to change on October 13th, when Beautiful Trauma is released. Like most music, the album is a re ection of the artist’s life at the moment. In this case, it means don’t expect a lot of slow, sad songs. One thing you can always count on from Pink is authenticity, and the lead single “What About Us” is about as authentic as it comes as it pulls no punches on her political stance. The lyrics may sound like political protest, but the ballad’s drums and synths will de nitely get you on your feet and dancing.
