SkIrtSAfIre feStIVAL
Women’s Day
International Women’s Day
is March 8, and on that day L'Oréal Paris will celebrate
10 Canadian humanitarians whom they’ve chosen as
the 2018 Women of Worth Honourees. The program,
now in it’s second year,
will see the 10 women
each awarded $10,000
in charitable grants at a star-studded Awards Gala
in Toronto. The event is
hosted by L'Oréal Paris spokesperson Helen Mirren.
The nominated women have all volunteered their time to serve
and improve the lives of those
in need, and were chosen by
a judging panel based on the impact of the causes they’ve championed and innovation they have demonstrated to bene t those less fortunate. During the event, one of the women will be selected as the National Honouree and awarded an additional $10,000 grant for her non-pro t cause.
The ten women chosen this year are: Carol Todd of The Amanda Todd Legacy in Port Coquitlam; Chantal Bernatchez of Association Vergers d'Afrique in Montreal; Dr. Jane Vermeulen of Vets for Pets
in Victoria, BC; Hazar Mahayni
of Syrian Kids Foundation in Montreal; Lise-Marie Gravel of Autism Without Limits in Montreal;

Taking place at venues across the city, the SkirtsA re Festival supports, empowers and showcases the work of women in the arts (theatre, dance, lm, music).

Throughout March
Women and girls in developing countries walk an average of six kilometres every day to collect clean water. This March by walk on your own, create a team or join a local event, and raise funds to help provide water closer to home.
