Ilia Beauty was founded by Sasha Plavsic, who now runs the company with her brother, former Olympic athlete Zachary Ilia. Plavsic’s brother struggled
with allergies and asthma while growing up, which encouraged her to become passionate about natural beauty. Ilia claims that its products contain up to
85 percent organic ingredients. Although the brand was launched in 2011 and started with a line of tinted lip conditioners, the range has expanded over the years. Today, Ilia carries cosmetics such as its Limitless Lash Mascara, in addition to illuminators, eyeshadow and foundation. With lipsticks with SPF 15 and brushes that contain SPF 20, Ilia also offers organic products that claim to protect the visage from UV rays. As a rising Canadian brand and one which fits into the ethical beauty movement, Ilia Beauty is certainly a name to watch for.
