PIN-STRAIGHT GLAM FRENCH BRAID
French braids are a classic hairstyle. Even though they are simple, they are intricate and are always a show stopper.
STEP 1: Prep hair with your favourite texture spray for grit and volume. This will ensure the braid holds nicely. Gather all of the hair to the desired side.
“Gather hair on the side parallel to your part for a more flattering effect,” says Araujo.
STEP 2: Separate hair into three equal sections. Take the section of hair from the left and cross it over in between the right and center sections of hair, as you would with a standard braid.
STEP 3: Use your index fingers to pick up the pieces of hair just outside the plaited area along the way and pull them into the braid. Try to pick up half-inch sections of hair to keep the braid bal- anced.
STEP 4: Let the pieces in front of your ears fall out of the braid for a more uncontrived look. To keep it from looking too messy, pin some of the longer layers into the base of the braid.
STEP 5: Leave about an inch of hair unbraided and secure with an elastic. Pull the braid apart for messier texture. Finish with your favourite finish- ing spray.
A classic smokey eye takes this look from demure to smouldering for the holidays.
