we couldn’t help but wonder, how does Sarah Jessica celebrate the holidays?
Favourite holiday tradition?
We always leave the tubes around which the wrapping paper is wrapped in, under the tree. growing up, the tree was naked when we went to bed and then when we woke up, it was all decorated and the wrapping paper tubes were underneath. my mom said they were called do-de-do’s, and that santa leaves them to let us know that he’d been there and wrapped all the presents.
go-to holiday #ootd? We are all in our pajamas until about 4 p.m., when people start coming over. We’re all in slippers, pajamas, sweaters, and socks, and just hanging out, and then the door- bell rings and we all scramble trying to put some kind of proper dress on.
choice holiday dinner Side diSh?
i learned this from my godmother—we do beautiful petite baby peas, with a little bit of butter, some grainy mustard, and sour cream. they are insane.
chriStmaS carol you can’t helP but Sing along to? We
sing along to all of them. We listen
to a lot of classical music with the orchestras playing christmas and holiday songs. We really indulge.
the soundtrack for the Peanuts holiday special—that was Vince guaraldi—is de nitely a favourite.
the giFt that keePS on giving...i give my children a new ornament every year, so that when they leave home and they have their rst christmas tree, they will have ornaments that have meaning, and stories of travel, and sentimental attach- ment. Wherever i go, i always try to nd christmas ornaments.
Fragrance to SPritz on beFore FeStivitieS? i’ve been wearing stash— which is our newer fragrance—really, religiously, so i always have it on me. Fragrance for me is...you know, brush my teeth, dab some lip gloss, eye pencil, and i have my fragrance, and a book. that’s what i need to leave the house...and a metrocard, and my keys.
all i want For chriStmaS iS...a lit- tle sleep on christmas eve would be nice. i’m always the last person awake on christ- mas eve and the rst person up on christ- mas [morning], because i want to make sure the camera is charged and that i can be ready when the kids wake up and see
them, see the tree, and see their stockings.
do you make a new year’S reSolution? i sometimes do, and i sometimes don’t, and i never share
them...they’re private.
